The Practice Phoning the Doctor
We appreciate that telephone consultations are sometimes appropriate and useful. We are happy to make ourselves as accessible as is humanly possible. However the receptionists have been requested not to interrupt consultations except in emergency. This is to avoid disrupting the consultation, and to protect confidentiality of telephone.
The scope for what can be safely achieved over the telephone is limited and for significant health concerns it may be best to arrange an appointment.
Ideally the medical staff reserve protected time for calls, should they not be available they will make every effort to return your call depending on the degree of urgency. We regret that we are unable to handle routine telephone calls in the emergency surgery on Saturday morning.
